What a day! What a Big Day Out! 🎉
Our recent BIG DAY OUT #2 for 2024 was a huge hit for all the teens and mentors that made it along!
Proudly sponsored by LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, this BDO provided an unforgettable day for our young people looking to explore new skills, challenge themselves, and connect with others in a fun and supportive environment.
We started the day exploring the Constriction Futures Center, getting to learn about all the different career options out there, and we had a blast stepping into virtual worlds, exploring what different careers could look like through augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) simulators.
It was an eye-opening experience for many, showing just how far tech has come and hinting at potential career paths in these growing fields.
Then we split into groups to tackle the endless lineup of activities waiting for us.
First up, Theatre Sports with the Western Australian Youth Theatre Company — where we channelled our inner actors, and burnt some energy while trying out hilarious movements, before creating some epic puppets from the simplest materials. Our creativity was off the charts! ðŸŽðŸŽ¨
We slowed it down for a bit with a T-shirt decorating session, which gave everyone a chance to reflect and bring their own style to life. The final designs? Next-level awesome! 👕
Of course, lunch filled many hungry bellies and kept everyone powered to go for the rest of the day.
And there was still more!
The rock climbing walls were calling, and we couldn’t resist the thrill of racing each other to the top.
Rock climbing had us testing our strength, resilience, and maybe even discovering a bit of bravery we didn’t know we had. The laughs, friendly competition, and friendships? Truly priceless.
